“For far too long, East and Northeast India have been perceived as slow or difficult markets. What often goes unnoticed is the exceptional quality of architectural thinking coming from these regions. Designers here work deeply with climate, context, and culture, and in many ways, the rest of India needs to catch up. Through Surfaces Reporter Architecture Event, we aim to highlight, promote, and take the best of East and Northeast India to a national audience.”

Emphasising the material and market perspective, Pragat Dvivedi, Director, MATECIA Exhibition, added,

“2026 will mark the emergence of East and Northeast India as serious growth markets. These regions are witnessing rapid urban development, infrastructure expansion, and a new generation of design-conscious professionals. MATECIA’s presence here reflects our belief that the future of India’s building materials market will also be equally driven by East and Northeast India.”

Curated by the 15-year-old Surfaces Reporter media house and supported by MATECIA’s nationally respected exhibition platform, the event promises three days of interior material exhibition, design recognition, knowledge exchange, and industry networking.
