SURFACES REPORTER SALUTES has been created to honour these exceptional architects, designers, and firms whose work has contributed significantly to architecture, interior design, and real estate across India’s many regions. This premier recognition platform comes from SURFACES REPORTER – a leading voice in Indian architecture, interior design, and building materials since 2011.

At its core, SURFACES REPORTER SALUTES aims to strengthen the regional ecosystem of architecture and design. The next edition—SR Salutes East & North-East, scheduled to take place in Kolkata—continues this vision by recognising distinguished architects and designers from the Eastern and North-Eastern states of India. This edition will once again bring regional voices to the forefront while showcasing innovation rooted in culture, climate, and contemporary practice.
It creates a space where architects and designers of the region can come together, exchange ideas, and gain visibility—while being introduced to some of the best products and solutions showcased through the MATECIA Exhibition platform. For vendors and exhibitors, SR Salutes opens doors to new markets that may once have seemed distant or inaccessible.

The Inaugural South India Edition
The inaugural South India Edition, held on 22 February 2025 at BIEC Bengaluru alongside the MATECIA Exhibition, brought together renowned architects and designers from Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Goa. Across three days, the event highlighted the region’s dynamic and evolving design landscape.
The grand highlight was a gala dinner and felicitation ceremony where SURFACES REPORTER recognized creators behind South India’s top 500+ projects – work celebrated for its innovation, contextual sensitivity, technical excellence, and future-ready thinking. Nominations for SR Salutes come through industry submissions as well as direct selections made by the Surfaces Reporter editorial team after detailed evaluation. The focus is on meaningful, credible impact – not on generic or category-led awards. Unlike gender-specific platforms such as THE WADE ASIA, SR Salutes is inclusive and open to all professionals who have contributed significantly to the built environment.
